Awilo Longomba is a Congolese Soukous superstar, singer, drummer, and electrifying performer who became one of Africa’s biggest musical exports in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He is renowned for blending traditional Congolese rhythms with global dance styles, creating high energy music that instantly moves crowds.
He is also credited with pioneering the genre known as Techno Soukous, derived from Rumba, a popular dance music style that originated in the Congo Basin in the 1940s.
